Villa Del Mar - Juarez, Mexico
The Villa Del Mar has a relaxed atmosphere, a variety of well prepared seafood dishes, and affordable prices.
There are at least two Villa del Mars in Juarez, actually, the one reviewed here and a larger restaurant on Avenida de Las Americas that you will see on the right after exiting the Cordova International Bridge and passing Chamizal Park.
The interior is clean and upbeat. The clientele at this location is almost exclusively local. This is definitely a family restaurant.
The Fiesta de Camarónes can be recommended — six fried shrimp, six shrimp cooked in egg batter, and five large shrimp wrapped in bacon. Each of the large shrimp has a sliver of fresh jalapeno running down the middle. The brown salsa is spicy hot but makes a great enhancement for the copious portion of rice served with the meal. The price of this dish was less than $9 (09/03). It is served with a seafood soup and salad not shown here.
The Villa Del Mar is constantly offering appealing specials.
I have had lunch or dinner at this restaurant over 40 times and have never been disappointed.
